Good Morning, Girls!
It's Wednesday - we're halfway there - yipppeeeeee!!
It's Wednesday - we're halfway there - yipppeeeeee!!
I made (2) extra special cards last night that I am pretty proud of. Every time I make a card without following a sketch or trying to pirate someone else's card, when it's just my own direction and following my ideas to see where they take me, I just have this amazing full-of-pride thing goin' on.
Now this first card I just love the colors - very bold Raspberry Fizz and True Black - from Papertrey Ink, of course. SIDENOTE: Did you hear that one of my idols, the AMAZING Dawn McVey is now going to be designing stamps for PTI? She's calling her line "Raspberry Suite" - that's what made me think of it. I cannot wait to order her stamps on the 15th! OK - back to this card. So the colors, the perfectly matched fabric (my friend Vicki here in Boise is a quilter and she gave me a big tin full of remnant fabric), and then I stamped the flowers from the Women of Life set (PTI too, duh!) and added some bling centers - LOVE IT! Now here's what's special about this card: I signed up for a Mother's Day swap at SCS. We exchanged names and I am going to be spoiling someone else's mother for Mother's Day and someone else will be spoiling my mother for Mother's Day! How cool is that? So my mother is going to get a package from a complete stranger with things that I told them she likes, colors she's in to, hopefully a pair of socks because I told them she never has a matching pair if she has any socks at all.... So this is for Bekah's mom for Mother's Day. I am also going to put together a box of cards for her. And then I'll go shop for mom-gifty type things. I am really excited about this swap - and tickled with the way this card turned out!
This card brings tears to my eyes :( It's obviously going to be for my beautiful little girl's 5th birthday this summer. The special part is - the fabric on this card is from her blankie! Vicki made her a blankie when she was born and K doesn't go anywhere without it. This was in the remnant tin so I knew I had to do something with it!! She's going to love this card and I had such a wonderful time making it for her. Awwww....
And thank you again - a thousand times - for all your sweet words;
they mean a lot to me.

Those cards are FAB! Love the colors on the first one, dark pink and black together is one of my favorite combos!
Cute as always!
K will treasure that card just like she treasures that blankie. I can't believe she's going to be 5 already.
I love them both, Michelle! How awesome to use the fabric like that! I know how you feel about the DT applications. I've gotten turned down 3 times recently too! I just think there are sooo many applicants from around the world, and sooo many talented women out there! I hope you keep trying. I know I'm going to : )
I love the diecut that you turned sideways....where did you get it??
