It's gonna be a great day.

I made this card a while back, and just never got around to posting it. This is a card I made for a challenge over a Jacksonbelle - the challenge was to make a card that was not a rectangle. Now that I look at this - even though I cut it out with a Nesties, it's still a rectangle. So we can stamp a big ol' FAIL on this challenge attempt as well - heh.

After church this morning, the kids are going to grandma's for the rest of the day and Rob is going out geocaching.
That means it's just me, NASCAR and cards - - love it!

Thanks for stopping in - and have a wonderful Sunday.

Kissin' that week goodbye!

*whew*
Usually the week gets better as it goes on, but man, my Friday was r-o-u-g-h!
Came home and Rob barbecued some chicken and then I made cards with the kids. I had been promising them that we'd make cards together and naturally earlier this week I had promised them Friday night and of course it turned out to be a hellacious Friday - but there's no breaking pinky promises, you know. We had a good time though - all I can tell you is, if you thought my cards were overembellished, wait 'til you see theirs *LOL* I'll be posting them next Wednesday.

Now about this card - I {heart} this card. I thought it was really good, submitted it for something and was told that it was not all that - ha. Hey - honesty works! I still think it's a good card - even if it's not good enough *wink*

Thanks for stopping in today.
Hope you have a wonderful Saturday!

About friends.

I have learned a lot about friendship lately - and I mean a lot. Not all good either - and that's sad. This lady at work once told me "you want to know what people think about you, you get yourself laid up in the hospital and you'll find out" - - boy howdy was she right! But beyond that, I've just had an interesting year with friends - or lack therof. And I've got to tell you - I think the internet is both good and bad for friendships. It's good because you can send pictures right away, and you can keep in touch a lot more frequently - - several times a day even. But on the flipside, it's very easy to take something written in an e-mail (as opposed to spoken), the wrong way. And it's very easy to fire off an e-mail in the moment and *poof* years of friendship can go right down the drain.
As I get older, I'm finding it's harder to make friends and to keep friends - the new ones. The friends that I have now have been my friends since high school and college. I have picked up friends along the way but they haven't been able to last. Maybe I'm getting set in my ways and I'm less accepting and harder to accept? Who knows. Whoa - that was way more than you wanted to hear from me, eh? LOL In short - this card is a quick card just to send to a friend and say hey - I'm glad you're my friend...sometimes things like that are hard to say...but easy to write....and not in an e-mail either!!

Have a wonderful Friday, girls.

Pez-A-Doodle Wednesday *late*

I always get irked when people at work miss deadlines or whatever and say "the holiday threw me, I keep thinking it's Tuesday" or something like that. I'm like come on, get a clue, you still lived the day, the day didn't go away - you're just lame *giggles* Well, it would seem that yours truly is that same lame now. My Pez-A-Doodle Wednesday post, um, the card was all ready, but yeah - I thought I had another day *gasp* So I am lame, and now I'm probably going to be on all sorts of probation and whatnot *cries*

Have you seen Series 32 from Studio G yet?? I was so looking forward to using the set with the little friend sentiments. Love them! And I'll tell you something else about Studio G that I'm not sure you know - no staining. I have yet to have ANY staining on my Studio G stamps. They wipe like a dream and look good-as-new after each use. And don't judge me, but I don't clean my stamps right away...sometimes it can be dayssss - oh hush! So anyhow, go and get this set from Pez-A-Doodle - there's also some fab alphas for all your personalizing cards and layouts, and a cute Happy Birthday set - $14.40 - cheap!!

Don't forget to check out the Studio G Sketch Challenge over at PCP; there are PRIZES!!
So anywho - just a lil' friendship card. Remember girls, you don't need a birthday or a death to send a card - - just because cards are the best cards to send!

Thanks for stopping in today!

My lil' soapbox.

I went to my son's class last week as they were celebrating summer birthdays. I love that the teacher recognizes that there are kids who were born in the summer and otherwise wouldn't get to do the treat day in class and have all the fun that everyone who has a birthday during the school year enjoys. There were 9 kids celebrating their birthdays - and only 4 of us moms there....2 other moms who weren't there sent things. I work a full-time job, I leave the house before 7 and I am home 6:30ish every day. But there is no career worth missing those important things for your kids. I don't ask my boss if I can go to these things, I tell him "and I'll be out of the office this afternoon from 1:30-4 for my kid's school concert...." or whatever it is. I suppose he could tell me no - but he hasn't, so in that respect, I am fortunate. There is nothing like seeing your kid's little smile when you walk into the classroom - really heartwarming - so be sure you are doing everything you can to be a part of your kids' lives...they're only young once and this is the only shot you've got to be the bestest mommy ever.

What was more heartwarming for me was something that I saw when I went over to D's desk. He asked if he could come back to my office with me - there would only be an hour left so I said OK. I went to his desk to get his stuff packed up so that we could go and noticed my name on something....I reached for it and it was the card that I made him that I shared with you all HERE. I picked it up and looked at it and said to him...."you keep this right here, on your desk?"....and he looked at me like I was the silliest mommy ever and said "of course!" So precious.

I didn't have a lot of time last night, but wanted to play with my new Papertrey goodness that was waiting for me when I got home - finally (it'd been delayed by UPS which really irritated me as I wanted to play with this stuff over the long weekend). I made this simple card for my son - will give it to him on the last day of school next week - congratulating him for finishing 1st grade and wishing him much love and success as he prepares to be a big 2nd-grader.

And for those of you that are interested in blog candy - Miss Marti from Pez-A-Doodle has a lil' sumpin'-sumpin' on her blog today *wink*

Have a great day!

Verve sketch/contest.

Miss Julee at Verve is having a lil' sketch contest. The winner of this contest gets to be Queen for a Day! Wait no, it's better than Queen for a Day - it's Guest Diva for a month! Well, if I can't have my dream job of being a Verve Diva, I'll settle for tryin' it on for size for a month for sure! Although I've seen the other entries, and, um, I ain't got no chance - LOL Anywho - it was fun playing the "what if" game - you know, kinda like the lottery thing "what if I won the lottery...." - oh that's a fun game too!

So here's a little bebe card I made with Julee's sketch - featuring Little Star and Family Phrases which are on sale for $2.70 and $4.80 right now so get on over and score you a little Vervalicious deal, girls!

Back to work today after the 3-day weekend *blah*
Thanks for stopping in - and have a great day!

Papertrey Ink Blog Hop - *...yellow...*

This month's Papertrey Ink Blog Hop had a theme of summer - specifically using yellow as it is the warm weather summer color. I've never been a huge fan of Lemon Tart, but I'm starting to warm up to it - get it? warm up *giggles*
I decided to make a little notecard set for my mother-in-law's birthday next month - a summertime birthday seemed a good occasion to use the yellow, no?

I made simple 5.5x4.25 notecards (the kind that don't open) that one would use for a quick thank-you note. I used the Bitty Baby Blessings paper pack that I don't seem to turn to very often and I think it's because of the name - I forget that there are papers in here that can be used for things other than baby cards.

I only have two big alphabet stamp sets - a Martha Stewart Christmas one, and this one that I think is Marcella K from Target that I bought when I first got into cardmaking (so long ago - 5 months LOL).

I used Papertrey's Everyday Blessings set to stamp the envelopes and a little tag on the front of the packaging.

I packaged the set of 8 notecards and 8 envelopes in a Clearly Creative Card Box from Papertrey, tied it up with some Lemon Tart Saddle Stitch ribbon and I was done.

I hope my mother-in-law likes it...and I hope you do too.
Thanks for stopping by; don't be a stranger!

Holiday Monday -

Still lovin' the 3-day weekend. Not lovin' that the Coca-Cola 600 was rained-out yesterday but so glad today is a Holiday and I get to stay home and watch it. If it's rained out today, I'm gonna be sooooo not happy.

Just a couple of quick things for you today - I'm hosting over at Fun-Frilled today. Here is a sneak peek of my card - - you'll want to head over to at least read about this nightmare of a card *d'oh*

Pez-A-Doodle is having a big Memorial Day SALE today - almost everything in the store is 25% off! So head on over there - cheap stuff she's got there like those little acetate boxes, and that neat German Scrap metallic paper ribbon, and of course Pez-A-Bling!

Check back this evening - 3pm my time (5pm EST) to see a lil' project I worked on yesterday.
Thanks for stopping in today!

Happy Weekend!

SUNDAY:

Don't you just love holiday weekends where you get up and it's Sunday but it's really a Saturday because we're off tomorrow too?
Oh yeah - LOVE THAT!!

Miss Marti over at Pez-A-Doodle is tryin' to be like Kohl's or Dillard's or Macy's or somethin' and havin' herself a lil' Memorial Day sale. Tomorrow only almost everything in the store will be 25% off! Now her stuff is already a smokin' deal so taking 25% off a smokin' deal makes the prices dang hot - wooooooooooo!

And and and - there's a new challenge over at the Studio G group on PCP - this time it's a sketch challenge. You don't have to use Studio G stamps but who ain't got just one of those lil $1 babies hangin' around? Here's my take on the sketch which features Studio G Series 32 goodness and Glittered Skittles - both of which can be found at Pez-A-Doodle.

Enjoy your Sunday!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SATURDAY:
Gettin' to the blog-o a little late today - was up late last night coupon shopping and then working on things for Digiments and then out bright and early this morning because I found 12 more double coupons!!! and then I came home and parked-it at my craft table working on things for my design teams and on something pretty special to me.
I made the invitations for my daughter's 5th birthday party!
I am so stinkin' excited about these. I hate that the raspberry colors don't reproduce well for me, but, these are so adorable. I will say up front - these are not cheaper than buying a pack of invites at the party store.
Here's a lil' cost breakdown for you:
(4) sheets of Basis Magenta cardstock from Paper Temptress = $1.32
(2) sheets of
Laser White Glossy Lustre cardstock from Paper Temptress = $1.68
2/3 of a sheet of
Silver Ore cardstock from Paper Temptress = $.50
1/3 of a pack of stickers from Zurchers (party store) = $.49
Spool of
Raspberry Fizz Swiss Dot Satin ribbon from Papertrey Ink = $3.00
1/3 of a spool of
Sheer White Polka Dot ribbon from Papertrey Ink = $1.00
----------
Having your little girl beam with pride telling people that her mommy made her birthday party invitations: priceless.
Hope you are having a great Holiday weekend!
Thanks for stopping by today.
♥ Friday ♥
Yay - it's FRIDAY!!!
Friday and it's a 3-day weekend here in the States, gotta ♥ it!
Got some new paper.....new QuicKutz dies, a new Martha punch and new Pez-A-Doodle goodness - - it's a good day. I bought this paper on Spring Break in New Mexico and it keeps catching my eye as I go in and out of my paper cupboard, finally I had to make something with it - ended up with 2 somethings since I love this paper so much!
In addition to the paper, this card features new plus brand-spankin'-new Studio G Stamps from Pez-A-Doodle. Plus - check out what I did on the ribbon - that's Studio G Glitter Glue right there....just tryin' a lil' somethin' different *wink* Oh, and the paper is from My Mind's Eye Bloom & Grow collection.
This second card is another Rachael Ray card - 30-minutes or less, more like 15! For all you working moms out there with no time to create - no excuses! Super easy, super fun - really, if you are going for quick, the best thing to do is use paper that packs a punch, and use border punches - makes the card look a lot fancier than it really is *wink*
Hope your Friday is off-the-chain FAB!
Pez-A-Doodle Wednesday...plus.
OK, 4 days in and I am officially tired of the heat - LOL - I told y'all that would happen! When we bought our house we didn't consider the way that it faces, so our house never cools down plus the rooms that we are in in the evening are always super hot from like 6-10pm; totally sucks. Sunshine is pretty and all, and I love that my rose bushes are growing and flourishing, but, let's be real here - I'm a big fat chick and me + heat ain't pretty.
Here's a lil' card I made with some Studio G Series 30 goodness. I really am enjoying being on the Pez-A-Doodle design team; really thinking outside the box with uses for these little $1 stamps is a wonderful thing especially in these times we are in where the pocketbook isn't stuffed like it used to be if you KWIM.
I had a little blog candy contest goin' on for some Studio G goodness, and I had to laugh when the number came up and I saw who the winner was.
Miss Harriet
is the winner -
and I've recently been razzing her over at PCP about using her Studio Gs for more than what they appear to be for. Like if the {heart} u stamp is in a Valentine's Day set, take it and use it on a card for your husband for his birthday (like I did) - things like that - getting outside of our comfort zone and not playing by the rules. So Miss Harriet - e-mail me at michellelovespsp@yahoo.com - and I'll be waiting to see what you create with your new Studio G goodness!
I also played along with Miss Dawn's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge this week. I've only played along once although technically twice but the second time the deadline came and I forgot to post my card *d'oh* So here I am on deadline day with my card. Challenge was to use only the 4 colors you see above. I actually like these colors together so it wasn't that much of a challenge for me *wink*
Alright girls, it's back to work for me today *groan*
Have a wonderful Wednesday!
Tuesday fun.
OK, so not so much fun because apparently I am having photo issues. We had the photobox on a table in the garage, moved it for the garage sale, put it back into the exact same spot and now I can't get my pictures to be bright/light like I used to. Irritating. Anywhoooo.... Morgaine is a big chipboard cardmaker, and I love that look - but it totally intimidates me and I'm not sure why.
So, I gave it a shot - fun card for a little kiddie, I think.
Today is the last day to enter to win my blog candy HERE.
And have you downloaded and used your free Digiment and entered to win the entire next release?
I go back to work tomorrow after having been off since Friday the 8th.
I am going to be a cardmaking fool today!
Have a fun Tuesday!
Starting the week off with a bang!
OK Girls - there are (5) things goin' on here today, so try and keep up *wink*
1. Digiments - my brand new digital stamp company!! - weekly challenges start today with a free Digiment to play with and then enter to win the entire next release. So get on over there and check that out.
2. Blog candy still up for grabs HERE.
3. It's Monday - so that starts a new week over at Fun-Frilled. It's also the second week of Verve giveaways so you'll want to play along and get in on that action. Here is a peeksie at my card.....:
4. Paper Temptress' blog - today is my day over there as well. I don't think I have seen any of y'all over there evah! Sounds like I might need to offer some incentive to come visit...hmmm.... Patricia's got another sale this month 25% off the entire metallic line; check it out, it's hot stuff. Here's the card I made this week featuring Paper Temptress paper....:
5. You know I am loyal to the 208 {that's the area code for Idaho *wink*}. You also know that challenges aren't my thing. But, I thought I'd show some support and give Rachel's Cupcake Inspiration Challenge a go this week since she is right here in Boise. This is the picture your creation was to be inspired by....
...yeah, me and challenges don't get along that well. All this inspired me to do was to eat carbs and lots of them. *sigh* I got some polka dots in there....the colors to match the cupcakes....a bow like on top of the cupcake but seriously, I really just want a cupcake - LOL
Hope your week starts of with a great Monday.
Thanks for stopping in - much appreciated!
Beautiful Sunday.
Good Morning, Girls!
Would you believe it was up to almost 90 here yesterday and it'll be at 90 today? Oh man - I love this weather! I say that now, but when it gets much hotter than this, I'll be complaining. As much as I don't like the warmer weather, the first few days of warmth really are a welcome change from the cold.
I've got (2) pretty thank-you cards up today made with the new Porcelain paper pack from BasicGrey that I picked up at Jacksonbelle Embellishments. I cannot get enough of these sets - the Porcelain, the Lime Rickey and the Wisteria.
The thing I like about these lil' packs is that they have the color and the theme thing goin' on, but depending on what you use and what you pair it with, it can totally change the image of what you think that paper was meant for. The Porcelain paper for example, with all it's soft pinks and minty greens and vintage designs, has some geometric papers which I have used on both these cards here. I went a little more vintage on the first than I did on the second because I don't think I have totally mastered the vintage thing.
BasicGrey paper paired with Papertrey stamps, buttons and ribbons - what a beautiful thing.
Have you entered my blog candy giveaway yet? Details on that can be found HERE.
Have a sunny day!
A Pez-A-Doodle Birthday.
Today is my husband's birthday - and we have a very busy day planned.
Our subdivision is having a garage/yard sale and the place is going to be packed. Now that we have kids, we have lots of extra clothes and junk around so we decided to try our hand at the madness that is a garage sale. I'm even putting out a basket with some of my cards *wink*
So anyway, Rob will be running the garage sale, then in the middle of it we'll all head off to the soccer fields for K's last game...then home for more garage sale...then back for D's last game...then home for birthday dinner and presents. I was going to bake a cake last night but we didn't have any eggs. I'm thinking a birthday pie from Marie Callender's is what we're havin' tonight.
This first card is a scrap card from my son to his dad. The happy birthday sentiment is brand new Studio G Series 32 from Pez-A-Doodle. The dad stamp is from Studio G Series 30 - the big set that had all those great Father's Day sets in it - also from Pez-A-Doodle.
Another scrap card - don't you love that DP from My Little Shoebox? I think it's fantastic! Again the happy bday sentiment is from Studio G Series 32 while the sweet lil' daddy is from Studio G Series 30. And look - Pez-A-Bling on the tag!
This last card - from me - I used the new Lime Rickey paper pad from BasicGrey that I got from Jacksonbelle Embellishments. I just placed another order from there - Miss Lindsey always has good clearance - and I picked up some Cosmo Cricket Christmas rub-ons and this really neat transparency from Prima. No idea what I'm going do with it - it's very intimidating now that I have it in hand. Anywho, that's the story on the paper.... I love the little {heart} u stamp from one of the Studio G Series 30 Father's Day sets - it fits perfectly in a teeny Nesties Labels Four and I have used it exactly that same way in a ribbon treatment before.
Alright, Girls - hope you have a great weekend.
Thanks for stopping in today!
Don't forget my blog candy opportunity HERE; thanks to the girls who already have signed up! - - LOVE it!!
Just some fun scrap cards.
I'm off work this week and have been taking full advantage of the peace and quiet and "free" time I have lately. Naturally I have been spending more time at my craft table than usual. I have been pretty good about not buying any new DP as I just have tons - although as soon as I can track down the new Cosmo Cricket locally, all bets are off. *wink* I have heeded the advice of Michelle Wooderson and when I have been out to buy DP (before not buying any recently) I have been buying just one sheet of it instead of 2 or more just because I really like it. Point being - I don't want to be wasteful, but still I am sitting here day in and day out cutting in to a new sheet of DP when my overflowing scrap box is staring at me...guilting me. So I went back to something I enjoy doing and that is making scrap cards. I have fun making scrap cards, they are less perfect, less matchy-matchy, but they are so playful and it's just a joy to try new colors and papers together even if they aren't from the same company or even in the color family. I also find that making scrap cards helps when your mojo is on vacation. Free-thinking and trying new things that sometimes are a hit but other times are a miss is part of the creative process.
I love this Little Me paper from Prima - expensive though it may be. Just a fun little card to have on hand when I need something for my little girl. With a base of Raspberry Fizz, I had to work my favorite color combo and get some Ripe Avocado ribbon in there *wink* This card is made with my new Verve - and goin' in a lil' contest over there as well.
I had not yet tried the Silver Lace German Scrap I got from Pez-A-Doodle and thought to try it with the light greens that I have here - Spring Moss from Papertrey Ink, BasicGrey's Wisteria that I got from Jacksonbelle Embellishments, some Scenic Route striped DP and some leftover Polka Dot Parade also from Papertrey Ink.
As we establish our roots in the community with school and pre-school and church, and now that we have kids that are school-age, we get invited to a fair amount of birthday parties. I had this one tiny piece of Cosmo Cricket paper leftover from the Honey Pie pack I used often at Easter time, inked up another new Verve stamp and embellished with some Dew Drops that were sitting on my table and we're ready for the next girl party. Both my kids have this bad habit of not getting the invitation to me until the day before or sometimes the day of - so it's good to have cards at-the-ready.
Don't forget about my Studio G blog-candy opportunity HERE.
Have a ghetto-fabulous day!
Pez-A-Doodle Wednesday + *contest*
Good Morning, Girls!
OK - before I get into my Wednesday Pez-A-Doodle post, I have got to remind you all that *...TODAY...* is the Grand Opening of Digiments - my new line of digital stamp sentiments (hence the name Digiments...get it? Digi = digital/Ments = sentiments). I've created 25 Digiments and they are on sale right now! So if you have made the leap to digistamps, throw a few bucks my way, would'ya?
And even if you haven't - head on over to see what I'm up to - appreciate the support.
Alright - so check this out. I am a cardmaker. CARDmaker. I'm not sure what part of CARDmaker Miss Marti didn't understand, but she hog-tied me into making a scrapbook page for this week's Studio G challenge over at PCP. Now - I don't scrapbook - (remember, CARDmaker) - but I will say this: I LOVED making this!! - - LOL It's just like making a card but you have a way bigger canvas. I have no idea what I'm going to do with this, but I sure am enjoying looking at it. The goal of the Studio G group over at PCP is to get people to stop collecting these little stamps and actually use them - all the stamps you see on my scrapbook layout are from Studio G.
And this is the card that my little princess will be giving her daddy for Father's Day.
She is a TOTAL Daddy's Girl and this lil' stamp from Studio G was perfect for her card!
Alright girls, I have a request, a plea, I'm begging. I don't know anybody over there at PCP! *cries* I feel like I'm all alone on an island *sniffles* Now granted, Miss Marti and Catherine are super cool and fun chicas, but, you know, we ain't comfortable like I am with some of you over at SCS. So, yes, I am bribing you - with Studio G goodness - to come and join the Studio G group over at PCP. It's very slow moving, the groups are small, just check in once a week or something, comment on the challenges, or, gee, I dunno, go buy yourself a $1 pack of Studio G stamps and actually make a card! Woooo - now THERE's a thought!!
So here's what you do - you go HERE to sign up for PCP. Once there, you are going to look for the group Studio G Collectors and then you're going to join it. It's not high-maintenance at all, it's mellow, and it's fun - and hey, I'm there! *laughs* So do all that and when you're fully joined, put yourself down here in the Mister Linky thingy (I pay for this thing so I'm using it on all my sites now - ha) and one-week from today, I'll announce the winner of the Studio G goodness you see below:
- (5) brand new Series 32 stamps (one of them is the pet one), a couple of little mounting blocks, Series 30 Fire Up The Grill stamp set, (3) Studio G ink pads with (3) matching Studio G Glitter Glues, and, not Studio G but equally cool - a little bag of 4 different colors of Pez-A-Bling!
THIS JUST IN - - Pez-A-Doodle clearance going on now. Lots of ink like that super cool Kaleidacolor rainbow ink pad.
Stock up, Girls!
Have a Happy Day - and thanks for stopping by!
When it rains, it pours.
Hey Girls!
Got a ton going on right now - but, I have a week off work so that's a gooooood thing ;)
First up - here's the card that I had over at Fun-Frilled yesterday. This week we are celebrating friendship and making cards with our friends in mind. There's also a little Verve goodness up for grabs over there, so you'll want to check it out for sure!
I made this little travel trailer card for my friend Vicki's birthday a couple of weeks ago.
I love Cosmo Cricket paper - they have the cutest stuff!
Sneak peeks of my new Digiments (digital stamp sentiments) start today over at the store blog. So be sure and head over there and check that out. The inaugural new releases go on sale tomorrow morning at 4am. You have until the end of the day today to win the entire new release by making a card with the free Digiment found HERE.
Be sure and come back tomorrow where I'll be showing you something totally new that I made....and, there'll also be a little blog-candy to go along with.
Thanks for stopping in - and have a great day!
Happy Mother's Day!
I couldn't leave y'all hangin' with no Mother's Day well-wishes, so I did get this one post ready before I went on leave.
♥ So happy Mother's Day to all you mothers out there. ♥
And if you aren't a mother - and want to be one someday - here's wishing you the best today too....and hoping for your dreams to come true in the future.
Remember I said I wasn't going to make my mother-in-law a Mother's Day card? Well I had *a moment* and decided to not only make her a card, but a gift as well. These moments are rare when it comes to her, believe me, but, she is my husband's mother and my children's grandmother so I gotta suck it up every once in a while, KWIM?
So here's more of that Marrakech paper by BasicGrey. I thought it looked kinda folk-artish which my MIL is in to - she's not a pink frou-frou kinda woman. So I made her a set of 4-cards all the same with different FRIEND sentiments on them. I am totally lovin' the Friend's 'Til The End set from Papertrey Ink.
And here's her gift all packaged up. I love the final product when these are all packaged up like this. I foresee whacks of these little sets going out for Christmas this year ;)
And this last card - hmm...how can I explain. So I submitted this for publication - and it was accepted - that's great, right? Not so much. I didn't read the fine print - it was for an e-zine. Who the heck wants to be published in an e-zine? Not me, that's who! LOL So anyway, I sent them my card - and then come to find out they are working on not being an e-zine but being a print pub. I don't think they had it all together, all I know is I made this card and now it's gone and who knows where it is - ha. So I'm gonna show it to y'all anyway! This card is made with part Verve and part Papertrey stamps - my mother-in-law is a Bible-thumper...this card was inspired by and for her...and it's my entry in to a little Verve contest celebrating the women in our lives.
Here's wishing you all a wonderful Sunday with your mother...or your kids - or just the people you love; it's a special day indeed.
Happy Friday *laughs*
I'm off tomorrow, so it's Friiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiday!
*yipppppppppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee*
I was going to apply for another DT and they wanted you to submit 4 newly created projects made with things from their store. I made 2 and then said to myself "self, you don't need to be on any more design teams...you have enough going on....and if someone wants you to be on their DT, they'll come lookin' for ya'" *giggles* So here are the 2 cards I made and never submitted. They are similar to ones that I have posted before - I made these and then did the others that you have seen like these with the remnants.
Some Verve action...some Papertrey action...and some BasicGrey action - what's not to love, right?
Alright girls, I'm goin' on a little blog hiatus.
I could pre-post some things so that there's something here every day, but I am just not that obsessive or full of myself to think that y'all are going to be dying to see what I'm up to - ha. I shall return in a few days.
Thanks for stopping in - and have a wonderful weekend!
Oh Happy Day!
It's Wednesday, but I am off work on Friday, so we'll just say it's Thursday for me ;)
I'll tell you what, I am getting so much mileage out of these (2) pieces of Basic Grey Marrakech paper - I showed you something with it the day before yesterday, this one today, and then I have something else coming up soon. Just one of those vibrant papers that is fun and versatile at the same time.
I've moved on to Father's Day cards now - if you haven't finished your Mother's Day cards, you need some serious help *laughs* Thing is though, I only have my husband to give one to...well, and I guess his father. So I think I'll do just like with Mother's Day - I'll make one for my husband from me, and then 1 from each of the kids, and then one for my father-in-law from my husband and then 1 from each of the kids so that's what, 6 cards that I need now? Wow, I went from needing 1 to needing 6 just sitting here talking to myself - ha.
On to business - check it: another great stamp from Studio G Series 30! I'm tellin' you, that set has it all - Spring, Mother's Day, Father's Day, summertime barbecue, 4th of July, graduation - it's a gigantic set that has you set for MONTHS of card occasions. I've still got bunches of cards to make to maximize all the uses from this set, and I need to do it with a quickness before Series 32 is coming out from Pez-A-Doodle next week and I am going to be playing with my new goodies then! You can pre-order Series 32 for $14.40 and be one of the first to get them (after me of course, because I'm special *neener neener neener*).
Oh - and if you haven't already, check out my new Digiments blog - there's a little contest goin' on over there leading up to the release. And more contest goodness - Fun-Frilled we've got Papertrey goodies up for grabs this week!
Have a great Thursday (remember, it's Thursday for me *wink*).
Teacher Appreciation Day.
I knew last week that Teacher Appreciation Day was today but I didn't put it on my to-do list for the weekend, and it didn't get done.
So I was scrambling last night gettin' it all together.
I had made a set of these cards to give to my son's 1st grade teacher on the last day of school. Well since I was unprepared *gasp* they are now for TAD and I'll have to make something else for the last day of school. I thought these cards would be good for her to give to some of her teacher friends - thought maybe it's not something she could just pick up a set of at Hallmark.
And then I packaged them in a Clearly Creative Card Box from Papertrey Ink.
I remembered that at the Halloween party Mrs. Wilson told the kids to bring her some Reese's peanut butter cups the next day.
You have to "mental Rolodex" those things. So I made a lil' jar topper.....
...and filled the jar with mini Reese's.
And then made a quick lil' card for my son to write in.
And I was done by 8:30 last night!! - that's even after getting home an hour late because I was hitting all the Walgreens' getting FREE toothpaste - LOL Buy a thing of toothpaste for $4.49 (rip-off!!) and then you get $4.50 off your next transaction. I am a couponing fiend!
Have a good one, girls; nice to "see" you!
And still more Butterflies.
Good Monday Morning.
{insert I-hate-Monday banter here}
*blah*
First off, I've got a sneak peek at the card I've got up on Fun-Frilled. Got a little contest goin' on over there for this week and the prize is some Papertrey Ink goodies - you'll want to get in on that action for sure! See you there!!
And of course our butterfly card-of-the-day.
This card is made entirely from scraps (later this week you'll see what it was the scraps from) and it features a cute lil' Studio G stamp from Pez-A-Doodle. Low budget stamps can totally make a pretty card - see! I'm gettin' the most out of my Studio G Series 30 stamps because Series 32 is on the way - woooooooooooo - *happy dance*
Hope your week starts of super!
