Sweetest holiday wishes + Christmas Q & A

Today I'm sharing a fun card I made featuring patterned papers and embellies from American Crafts. I love brown and red together - it's just so warm - the only downfall for me is when I make a card with a base of brown cardstock, is having to put a white insert on the inside of the card to write on it and I always forget that until it's time to use it!

This Merrymint line of papers and the coordinating embellies like this sweet candy cane have been so fun to play with this year!

Oh - and every now and then I like to share conversations with my mom re: the things that I make. Here's another one....:

Me: Hey ma, look at this card, pretty, no?
My mom: Yes.....but it's ripped.
Me: Ripped, where?
My mom: Right there by the words so you can really notice it.
Me: Ma, it's supposed to be that way; I tore the edge to break up the square-square look.
My mom: Well, it looks like there's something wrong with it....it's not right.

Miss Shelly sent me this Christmas Q&A thing and I have to admit - I DO like these things;
reading them and answering them myself.
So I thought I'd share mine with you all.

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Mostly wrapping paper; but for mailed gifts a lot of bags because my pretty bows will get smooshed on the packages anyway.

2. Real tree or artificial? Real, of course.

3. When do you put up the tree? First weekend in December.

4. When do you take the tree down? New Year's Day.

5. Do you like eggnog? Gag.

6. Favorite gift received as a child? Baby Alive - that yellow jelly poop was awesome!

7. Hardest person to buy for? My husband.

8. Easiest person to buy for? My kiddies.

9. Do you have a nativity scene? Several.

10. Mail or email Christmas cards? Old-fashioned mail.

11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? Anything from my mother-in-law.

12. Favorite Christmas Movie? The Polar Express.

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? I never really stop.

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? Is the Pope Catholic?

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Prime Rib!

16. Lights on the tree? White.

17. Favorite Christmas song? I'll be home for Christmas... :(

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? How will Santa find us if we are somewhere else?

19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeers? I don't think so....because I have Paco and Pepe on my list and everyone tells me that's wrong.

20. Angel on the tree top or a star? Minnie Mouse.

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Christmas morning.

22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year? People with bad attitudes.

23. What do you want for Christmas this year? Some cool things from Crate & Barrel.

24. What do you bake for Christmas? Baking is last on my list. At least fudge will get made and some sort of cookies if time allows.

25. Best Christmas memory? The year my brother and I unwrapped all our presents and re-wrapped them. I got a burgundy corduroy blazer and wore it all day before my mom got home and then re-wrapped it. We told her about it when we were opening presents; she beat the crap out of us - Merry Christmas!

Ha! Your mama is funny... I remember showing my mother a card beeming with pride. She took it, looked at it & said, "Hmmm... it looks... really handmade." :-| Thanks ma.

Your card is super fun! I love the ribbon at the bottom... that's one style I wish I had in my stash (scalloped trim). You rocked that line! :-)

And your Christmas survey cracked me up! LOLOL! Sneaky little munchkins! I can't believe you had the nerve to wear your gift all day...Haha!

And I love reading your Christmas Q&A. Nice to see someone in this world besides me doesn't like eggnog!
