Birthday bag.

Happy Saturday!

OK so check this - my kids both have summer birthdays so inviting their school class and having a big, fun party isn't really an option. So we usually have big parties but with just a couple of kids. This year I was thinking of having a party for both of them together, like before school gets out and inviting both of their classes - how fun would that be? The trendy thing around here these days is birthday parties at a place called Monkey Bizness - indoor play structures, rock wall and whatnot. My daughter went to her third party in as many months there last night. I told my husband to get the pricing info. For last night's party, 20 kids, an hour of playtime, pizza, water bottle favors filled with candy, and a balloon - they spent over $350. THREE HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS. For real? That's straight crazy. We have a teeny house, so space is a definite issue. Not sure what we'll do now...suggestions? And don't suggest nuthin' that's gonna cost me $350 either because that ain't happenin' - LOL

Anywho - I made a gift bag and matching card that my daughter took last night to the party. I couldn't fit the card in the photo with the bag so I guess I didn't take a picture of it? Odd. And now it's gone. Ah well - it matched. Had a little hedgehog on it to coordinate with this bag made with patterned papers from My Little Shoebox's Little Critter line.

Busy day today. My daughter's first soccer game of the season. Should be interesting. Her team last year was so good, they crushed the other teams from week to week. So the coach kept the team together and signed them up to play an age level higher so that they actually get some competition. Kind of exciting actually. Then my mom is gonna come over and help with the cleaning of this pigsty we call home. And then in the evening my aunt & uncle and my cousin's kid are coming over for dinner. Busy - but fun - that's what weekend's are for!

Hope your day is fantastic!

Good GRIEF! $350 must be lots of rich people there or sumthin'! Thats just NUTS! You could do a treasure hunt birthday party...and have veryone more outside, than inside...or if there is a park close maybe there. Treasure hunts are super fun, and your kids are a great age for that! You do have a super busy weekend! wowzers! Have fun...and that bag is da bomb! I love the hedge hog...bags are some of my favorites, people are always so surprised! Great job girl! Happy Saturday!

Yeah...$350 is crazy for sure.

Do you have 2 girls? Even if only 1 daughter how about a card making party?? I heard about a company in our city that brings themed parties to people and that is one of the options. You could pre-make a few card kits for the girls (and boys even!) and I am sure they would love that. In fact I'll come too! lol.

Sorry I have no ideas to share though...lol! Luckily, Chloe isn't into birthday parties. She doesn't like attending or hosting..haha!

This gift bag is so freakin' cute! I love the rolling hills you created!

Kid b-day parties have just gotten ridiculous - where do people GET that kind of money?
The bag is so adorable and I'm sure the matching card was great!

I'm surprised at all about the cost. People go crazy here with birthday parties, so I'm kinda used to it. I usually have ours here at the house, and make all the decorations, etc. We went to a party yesterday at a mini golf course, and so naturally my daughter said I want to have my next birthday party here. She says that everytime we go to a little gym, or a bounce house place, or chuckie cheese, or wherever else parties may be. Your gift bag is super cute!

Your packaging is awesome! I want to see the missing matching card, though...LOL!

$350 is insane. Totally insane to spend on kids' birthdays. I would never be able to justify that.
