January CARDs pubs.

Happy February, Girls!
I'm so excited Feb. 01 is here - ask me why! Go ahead, ask! OK, I'll tell you - our very first Hobby Lobby in Idaho is here annnnnd, not only is it literally less than 5 minutes from my house, but one of my reps got the invite to the ribbon-cutting/grand opening thing so we're meeting there at 9am this morning - woooo! I told him to bring the coupon from the paper so I can get several things for 40% off - heh.

Today I've got 2 cards to share with you that were in the January issue of CARDs magazine.

I was so excited when Papertrey Ink came out with their new Scarlet Jewel color - it's just the richest burgundy/wine/scarlet whatever you want to call it - I {heart} it so. I've paired it here with some BasicGrey patterned paper, a Hero Arts stamp, a vintage button and some trinket pins from Maya Road. I have to admit I didn't think this card was all that spectacular but I submitted it anyway. You never know what color or style the magazine might be in need of when they go to put it together - so submit all you got!

This little snowman card is a fun one. I've got cardstock from Paper Temptress, patterned paper and diecut from My Mind's Eye, some vintage buttons, some fuzzy lace trim from Prima that I picked up at Michael's and a sentiment from Papertrey Ink. I punched that snowflake and then covered it with Glossy Accents. And that brown strip that I stamped the sentiment on - again I've used the manufacturer line on the patterned paper.

These pictures aren't the best - like the crappy photo editing I did on the left side of the first picture - LOL But you send in the actual card to the magazine and they put it in a really neat setting and have it photographed by a pro - - we ain't pros around here, folks.

Hope your week starts off great!

Hope you had a great time at the ribbon cutting this morning, and then bought lots of great stuff w/those coupons.
The cards are both terrific. I can see why they were published.
