As you read this, my husband, the kids and I are on the road to Vancouver, British Columbia (that would be in Canada) to catch a ride on this baby:
...that there is the ms Volendam. We're taking our very first cruise - a 7-day cruise to Alaska. Alaska! You know, that place where what's-her-name can see Russia from her house *giggles* Our goal is to visit all 50 states and since I don't fly, this is the only way we'll get to Alaska. Probably Hawaii too. But man that's a long cruise...lots of "at-sea" time. Baby steps.
We chose this cruise because of the route it takes. It's called the "Inside Passage" which should be calmer water, and you can see land almost the entire time. That all lessens the panic and the nausea factor. Like I said: baby steps. We've signed up to go gold-panning in Juneau. They guarantee that you'll get gold. Who knows, I could be filthy rich when I get back? *smiles*
So yeah. Off we go. NO INTERNET ACCESS until we get home. They have internet but it's like 55-cents per minute or something. And I ain't payin' 55-cents per minute to read e-mails from Build-A-Bear tellin' me to spend more money on my daughter, or Hobby Lobby sending me a coupon that I ain't even gonna be here to use - LOL No internet. That's some serious away/family time, isn't it? Should be special....we're all looking forward to it.
I've got some cards though...all made up to go live every day. And - I've got a giveaway or two coming up as well. You won't even know I'm not here! Just don't make a mess of the place while I'm gone.

LOL, love your post, Michelle! Have a GREAT time on your cruise! You know, I've only been on two in my life, and one of them was a 7-day Alaskan cruise--with the exact same itinerary as yours! I absolutely loved it, and I think it will make a terrific family cruise. I hope you all have the time of your lives!
