Love; the anatomy of a card.

I thought it might be fun to share my creative process with you all. I have a feeling I don't create like most people do - I really have no idea what my card is going to look like when I start out. I plan nothing. Sometimes not even the stamp I'm going to use. Anywho - if you don't care, just scroll to the bottom for the finished product *giggles*

So I started with some Sweet Cheri paper by Imaginisce. The sheet that has all the different strips representing the different patterns in the paperpack. I wanted a couple of pieces that weren't together, so I cut them separately, punched a heart border on the bottom one, and then layered them with adhesive. To cover the layer mark I wanted to put a little ribbon treatment so I laid down some redline tape.

I peeled my redline off and then just folded the ribbon over and up and down all the way across the width of the patterned paper.

This is the not-so pretty back side. I adhered some dimensionals to the back - I don't care if the back/unseen part of my card isn't matchy-matchy *wink*

So here is the first completed part of my card adhered to a Spring Moss base.

Then I decided to use some chipboard from their way over-priced chipboard pack. Sorry! Had to say it. You get one sheet of chipboard stickers for the same price you pay for 2 larger sheets of Pink Paislee chipboard, or 4 sheets of BasicGrey chipboard. And there's a lot more per sheet from those other manufacturers too. Sooooo....just a little disappointing.

So now I had to fill that big ol' gap that I left up there in the righthand corner. Kind of an awkward shape so I went with a Making Memories ticket, and then I punched out a coordinating heart from the back of the patterned paper.

I stamped a little sentiment and added a little button. I wanted to show you my fancy-schmancy way of holding down my buttons after they've been glued - this old heavy wire cutter. Hi-tech stuff, I tell ya'.

Here's my finished card. I inked around the edges just because there was too much open green space in that top right corner and I wanted to slim down the openness.
